On Tuesday morning in Houston, ICE agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a 52-year-old Mexican immigrant who had lived in the United States for nearly 35 years and, according to his son, was close to obtaining legal status. ICE says the agent fired in self-defense after Araujo ignored verbal commands, "weaponized his vehicle," and tried to run over an officer. But the official account is already unraveling.
